Determination of environmental sensitivity of vocational school students

Abstract

The research was carried out in order to determine the thoughts of 260 students studying at the Vocational School of Health Services (Gümüşhane University) on environmental awareness. In this study, it was examined whether there was a difference between some personal characteristics (class, age, and gender) of the students and their thoughts on environmental awareness. With the scale used in the research, it was tried to determine the opinions of the students about their environmental awareness and the adequacy of the environmental education they received. As a result of the data analyzed with the SPSS 24. 0 program, it was determined that the education given to the students on environmental issues such as air, water, and soil pollution is not sufficient and there is a difference in the environmental awareness of the students according to the gender factor, the high school they graduated from, and the grade level, and there is no difference between their department and their age.
