Abstract

The present ·investigation deals with the stomata! frequency on the sun and shade leaves.

The results obtained don't agree with the so far accepted hypotesis which depicted that the stomata!frequency was higher on the sun leaves. Because at five of the ten plants investigated, the stomata!frequency was found to be higher on the sun leaves, whereas at the remaining five, this frequency was higher on the shade leaves.

Under the light of this results, the necessity for further research on this sub­ ject  emplaying new  methods  has been  emphasized.
