Abstract

Throughout the green leaves and their colourless basal parts forming the bulb, and in the stem of inflorescence are the cells with mucilage substance, which can be demonstrated microscopically with coarse sections. Thus when the cut pieces are separated slowely from each other, the mucilage appears as fine threads extending considerably. The epidermis tissue prepared for microscopical observations a,nd from the bulb scales with mesophyll parts showed that these threads form packages through fine rollings which seem to fill the whole cell space. With careful observation one could differ their location within mesophyll, keeping a hormonized configuration with the epidermis cells so far as possible within themselves.
