Marine dictionary: Marine biology and fisheries’ terms and definitions

Abstract

It has always been discussed in the Marine Sciences community in Turkey that a study of terms and definitions should be done on the subjects of Marine Biology and Fisheries. In this context, a dictionary in Turkish-Turkish and English-Turkish under “Marine Biology and Fisheries: Terms and Definitions” has been prepared by Prof. Dr. Ferit Bingel, thanks to his many years of effort and experience in the field of marine sciences. The dictionary is available online on the website of the Institute of Marine Sciences of Middle East Technical University, where the retired after working for many years.

With its first "draft" completed in May 2006, Marine Dictionary has been constantly updated with various additions and corrections since, and the latest ninth "draft" was published in April 2016.
